China Mobile will support the Symbian Foundation, the best move of Nokia

symbianChina Mobile and the Symbian Foundation announced yesterday an agreement between them to improve the mobile ecosystem in China, from the standpoint Symbian, and to encourage the development of the mobile market developed on the TD-SCDMA 3G network to China Mobile operates in that country.

In this way the Symbian Foundation will carry applications and websites into Chinese and China Mobile will promote developers to work on Symbian Horizon, which will be tailored to that market.

China is one of the few countries where the iPhone has not arrived yet or not successful, so a move that’s better than might be expected prior to the arrival of the iPhone with China Unicom, which will have to demonstrate a real firepower with less than 150 million customers.

Since the launch of the store of China Mobile, is downloaded more than 200,000 applications, but less than 1% were for Symbian, which is why this deal could be good for Nokia sustaining global leadership, as China Mobile has with nearly 500 million subscribers.
