Exclusivity expires O2 and Orange will sell the iPhone in the UK
Orange and Apple have reached an agreement to enable the operator to sell the iPhone 3G and 3GS customers in the UK later this year. So far the operator has not provided information on pricing, rates or availability of terminals, but never mind. The news is that this agreement marks the end of the exclusivity that Telefonica O2 had to market the iPhone in the UK.
Now we just need to wait for the rest of exclusivity agreements Apple has signed expire halfway around the world and certainly we will see more players making similar announcements, which would be beneficial for customers. You know, the greater offer the best fares.
