iPhone 3G-S: still in Italy with Vodafone and Tim.
On the day that followed the WWCD, the event in which Apple has shown the world the new iPhone 3G-S, are dispelled all doubts about who will be responsible for marketing the new model of “iphone”. In Italy, where the next-generation iPhone will be available from June, the situation will not change much from the recent past.
Despite the attempts to insert attributed (or simply assumed in hope) to H3G, the new iPhone could be sold again by the two most powerful managers in terms of customers in the Italian phone. Before Vodafone and then, in the late afternoon yesterday, Tim have issued a press release in which they announce the imminent commercialization.
The two announced they are only postponing the Apple site for the characteristics and description of the new product; simply indicate in the June 19 release date. No information on prices and marketing arrangements, which will be disclosed only in next few days. Certainly the iPhone 3G-S will be sold, as was the case for the present model, associated with refillable and subscription contracts.
Based on the prices which have been provided for the American market, or $ 199 for iPhone 3G-S 16 GB and $ 299 for the 32 Gb (subscription), you may think that the supply of Vodafone and Tim will not be very different from.
Last year, at the time of submission the iPhone 3G in the U.S. spent $ 199 for the 8 GB version and $ 299 for the € 16 (also subscription): These prices have translated into € 499 in Italy and € 569, rechargeable version. As for subscriptions, Vodafone and Tim provided an initial contribution, depending on the plan chosen (with monthly fees and bundles available to traffic), between 0 and 199 € for iPhone 8 Gb and between 69 and 269 € for that 16 Gb.
