iPhone without WiFi in China
A few months ago we had them on the arrival of the iPhone to China, which despite being in almost everyone, had not been formalized in that particular country by a series of legal problems with the Chinese government and to certain patents, something rather strange considering that China is the largest, if not unique, a country where to get cheap copies of any telephone quality, and the iPhone is no exception.
The strangest thing about the iPhone launch in China is that the computer comes without WiFi connectivity, something really amazing because, even though nowadays most phones come and preferably using 3G networks, WiFi connectivity is essential for users who, like me, are not willing to pay more to have connections to practically 24hs thanks WiFi modem.
Obviously Apple’s prospects to insert the iPhone into the Chinese market were never very high, but it seems that the average sales during the first weekend of the iPhone in that country, not even reached the lowest predictions, with “only” 5000 units, which is small compared with the number of inhabitants and the average total that is being sold in each country. The ideals of Apple are introducing some 460,000 terminals in this country each year, but it is too early to know if you will achieve tremendous achievements, especially because it is precisely where we can get the best copies of the iPhone at a fraction of the price at which they get the actual phone and can barely see the difference between an original and one copy “to the naked eye, since the Copies will be much more complete than the real one.
